The death took place on Saturday of Miss Mary Taylor, of Kokiri, daughter of Mr and Mrs I). Taylor. Deceased was about 21 years of age.

A radio telegram from the “Tutanckai” via Auckland was received today that the Elsie was sheltering at Jackson’s Bay since the 7th inst. from continuous westerly gales.
The weather, which was showery on Saturday, cleared in the evening and yesterday broke fine and ’sunny. There was one of the sharpest frosts of the season last night and to-day was again fine. The hills stood out very clearly with their winter covering.

The death took place yesterday of Mr Michael Gerraglity, a well known and respected resident of Blackball. The deceased, who was admitted only a few days ago to the Grey River Hospital was 67 years of age. He spent his youth in the Kuniarn district, and later was in business, both in Greymouth, where he managed a hotel, and at Blackball, where he kept a store for some years, and also a boardinghouse, and was highly esteemed by all who knew him. He leaves a widow and family of one daughter (Mrs A. AlcLuskie, of Blackball), and three sons: William (Christchurch), Cecil (Pieton) and Basil (Hokitika). Messrs Ben and Basil Bremond are half-brothers of, deceased.
The death of an old and esteemed resident of Hokitika, in the person of Miss Fanny Nicholson, of Fitzherbert Street, took place on Saturday afternoon, after an illness extending over some weeks. The deceased, who was a native of Tnllamore, Ireland, came to Hokitika in the sixties, and has resided bora ever since with her sister, Miss Alicia Nicholson, until the latter’s decease, some time back. The deceased'leaves a numlier of nieces and nephews, including,'Mrs W. E. Perry, of Hokitika., Mrs Styclie of Christchurch, Miss'Kitty Nicholson of Christchurch and Mr Wm Nicholson of Christchurch, Mr Clias Smith of New Plymouth and Mr Frank Smith in Australia. The funeral took place to the Hokitika cemetery this morning, the Rev. G. Knowles Smith conducting the service.
