The death occurred on Sunday week at Half Moon Bay, Stewart Island, after a- brief illness, of -Mi's AVoodlcy. Deceased was formerly Miss Bose Lonnie, dti ugh tor of Mr Alex Lcnnic, at one time proprietor of the Commercial Hotel, 'Westport, and a niece of Mesdames J. Morgan and "W. Stevens of Westport and Mrs j, Taylor of Hokitika. She leaves a husband and seven children. A seaman named James Alexander was admitted to the Greymouth Hospital on Saturday, suffering from a severe scalp wound, due to a fall whilst walking along the wharf. The injured man was about to go aboard the ship Alexander, when he caught his foot in the railway line and was thrown heavily against n stationary truck. He is reported to be making satisfactory progress.
