MISSIONARIES IN CHINA. WELLINGTON, June 18

Tlie Anglican Church in New Zealand has thirteen of its members nerving at missionaries in China. The majority of them are working under a Bishop in North-China, who lias headquarters in Peking. Owing to the fighting that ha-s been taking place in the vicinity of the Chinese capital, very considerable anxiety lias been felt concerning them. Their friends and relations will therefore he relieved to learn that Rev. F. It. Redgrave, General Secretary of the New Zealand Anglican Board Missions, lias received, a cable from the Bishop in Peking, dated June loth, stating “All well.” DARING BURGLARY. AUCKLAND, June 18. A daring burglary was committed at the Bristol Piano Company’s premises at Karangaliapo Road early this morning. An entrance was gained by a long ladder to a high window. Mr C. A. Wilkinson announced today that lie will be a candidate Tor the Egmont seat at the General Election in response to the requests made to him from National Liberals. Mr Wilkinson, said, however, that he would stand as an Independent. Mr Wilkinson represented the Egmont district as a Reformer from 191'I to 1919, when he retired, and since then he has not taken an active interest in politics.
