The agricultural plank aside froc endorsement of the Coolidge administration’s help to agriculture is an innocuous promise of the party to reorganise the marketing of agricultural products, the creation of a farm board for such marketing and federal system of aid to co-operative marketing, but “Government must keep out of business.” The platform endorses without qualification the record of the Coolidge administration. praises his practice of public economy, reaffirms a belief in protective tariff, although certain provisions of the present law require revision further fo protect American wages and give the farmer further control of the American market. It again expresses a determination that war debts are to- he paid, ‘ although we have no desire to be oppressive or grasping.” It praises multi-lateral outlawry of war treaty and reiterates from friendship Avith Canada. It expresses sympathy with China hut stresses tho traditional American policy of non-interference in political affairs of other nations and reiterates a determination to stay out of the League, of Nations. The party pledges itself and its nominee to the observance of a. vigorous enforcement of tlie eighteenth amendment and deplores corruption in office in indirect terms and large election campaign expenditure,, and reaffirms a determination to continue to restrict immigration and maintain the navy up to the AVashington Treaty.
