LONDON, June 13. The following expeditions are now afoot:—

Finland is despatching immediately two aeroplanes fitted with skate skids.

Sweden in addition to help already offered is despatching a triple-motored Junkers aeroplane to Spitzbergen on Thursday.

The Russian ice-breaker Malygmine carrying an aeroplane has left Archangel. The giant ice-breaker Krassan leaves Kronstadt on AYednesday. Italy’s great seaplane, similar to taht used by De Pinedo last year on the Atlantic flight is expected at Stockholm to-night, and King’s Bay tomorrow.

The research aeroplane Norniewal is also speeding to Spitzbergen from Norway.

The famous ship Quest, loaded with supplies, left Tromso to-niglit. Captain Rosquist, a Finnish icebreaking expert says there is the smallest possibility of the ice-breaker reaching the Italia before the end of July. The only chance is the use of aeroplanes aboard the ice-breaker. A British United Press message from Berlin says tho non-participation ot America and Britain is causing comment. The “ Berliner Tageblatt ” wonders why England, with an aerial strength vastly superior to that ot Norway a-nd Sweden is doing nothing. NOBILE ONE OF THE INJURED. ROME, June 14. It is officially announced that General Nobile is himself suffering from injuries to bis right arm and to his leg, and that the chief engineer has a broken leg. PACIFIC FLIERS. MELBOURNE, June 14. The Pacific aviators were tendered a civic reception to-day. Their route to the Town Hall was lined with cheering crowds. They will fly to-morrow to Canberra, where they will he presented with the Federal Government’s cheque for five thousand pounds sterling.
