THOUGHTS FOR THE TIMES.
Arbitration Act Condkmned. Although a,s we have said, the net result of the Industrial Conference is almost nil. it is not necessary on that account to despair of ever getting rid of the evil consequences of the Act. It is something to have had it challenged. as it was challenged, at so solemn and conspicuous a place as this Conference. and fruitless as it has been the Conference may in time be looked back upon as the beginning of relief from the burden of one of the most notable impostures in modern legislation. —Christchurch Press.
