FOOTBALL.

WEST COAST RUGBY UNION. The West Coast Rugby Union met last evening, when there were present: .Messrs Adams (chair), Guy, Mclntosh, Steel (ft), llannam, Scott, White, Bring, Clarke, Gihnour, Kyle, Ryan, and Jones.

The referees’ reports were read and received.

The Referees’ Appointment Committee were ordered to forward names of referees for representativs matches to th X.Z. Rugby Union. The -New Zealand Union requested that .Mr l*. A. l’ascoe be given fourteen days’ notice to show cause why lie should not be expelled from the Rugby code.

Tlie Magpie Club wrote advising that owing to the timber depresssion they were compelled to withdraw from the competition. Fixtures for Saturday next are: — Seniors United v. Kiwis at Grevmouth, 3 p.m. (referee. Air AYinehester) ; Stars v. Excelsiors at Hokitika (referee. Air Wallace). HOKITIKA DEPUTATION.

.Messrs 11. At. Coulson (President), Heenan (Secretary), Stafford. Dowell, and Moore, a deputation from the Westland Sub-Union, waited on the Union to discuss several matters of importance to both the AX est Coast Union and AYesthmd Sub-Union. The points brought up" were settled for the betterment of the game in both districts. It was agreed to make a division of prospective rep. matches, as between Greymouth and Hokitika, that of the Canterbury team to be played at Hokitika. In regard to players cautioned or ordered off, it was agreed that Hokitika players be dealt with hv the Westland Sub-Union and Greymouth players by the AX.C.R.U. It was decided that, in order to start senior games punctually at A ictoria Park any junior game on the A ground unfinished bv 3.5 p.m. lie stopped.
