The value of tr-ide treaties is shown by the figures of Canada and the We-t Indies. The latter’s imports frptn Canada in PJI2 before the treaties, were valued at five million dollars, while in 1920, under the -treaty, they were valued at nineteen millions.
Exports to Canada Indore the treaties were valued at nine millions and in 1920 amounted to seventeen millions.
LOAN o'\ F.RSUBSCRIBED. NEW YORK, May 8. At fifty million dollars the Australian loan was oversubscribed shortly after it was offered. BILLY GRIME BEATS BUTMAN. NEW YORK, May 8. A message from Youngstown, Ohio, states that Billy Grime, the Australian boxer, won a popular decision over Blitman. Blitman was half a pound over weight for tfie match, the articles calling for 128 pounds at three o’clock. Grime weighed only 124fjlbs, but be did not seek to claim the forfeit ol three hundred dollars, or to ask that bis opponent should work off the surplus in n hot room. Grime saying that he was accustomed to fight contenders even twenty pounds heavier than himself.
The betting odds favoured Blitman. No official decision will lie rendered, tlie local Boxing Commission rules forbidding this. Grime bad the better ol a large majority of the rounds, and at the eleventh lie bad such a lead that only a knockout could possibly win for Blitman. At the twelfth round they came out lighting, without shaking hands. Grime caught most of Blitman’s vicious blows on bis glove, and continued to punish the American till the bell rung. Ibe crowd shouted lor Grime as the winner.
