It is announced in the Representatives that of six'natives sentenced to death for murders at Manahi, New Guinea, one died in prison, one was commuted to seven years and the remainder to fourteen years gaol. BUS OVERTURNS. MELBOURNE, May (i. A loaded motor-bus collided with a market gardener’s motor lorry at a street intersection near Parliament House. The bus overturned. Three men and sixteen women were injured, but most of them were not seriously hurt. The bus had its roof wrenched off and tbc plate glass windows smashed. The occupants were spilled on the roadway. The wonder is that the casualties were not more serious. DEAD BODY FOUND. SYDNEY. May 7. Mrs G. Gilberts’ dead b-ody was disoovered in a sitting position in the Blue Mountains, near Katoomba. She whs in ill-health and wandered front home on Easter Monday. A long search bus been ntado by men ever since, her husband offering £SO sterling reward. Death was apparently peaceful. (iHANDSTAND COLLAPSES. SYDNEY. May 5. The collapse of portion of tho grandstand at Rosetberry Races yesterday afternoon caused a stampede among the occupants, many of whom suffered injuries.
