ATLANTA FLOODS (Received this day at 9 a.m.) NEW YORK. April 17. A message from Atlanta states floods caused by torrential rains have taken seven lives while hundreds are suffering from exposure in many sections of Alabama and Northern Florida. Six thousand 'have '-been rendered homeless until the waters recede.
LIBEL ACTION. (Received this day at 10.15 a.mA OTTAWA. April 27. At Cobourg, a spontaneous demonstration of applause marked a dramatic moment in the C urrie libel suit. Defence counsel began shouting question alter question at the lormer commander, when applause broke out accompanied by stamping of feet till the Sheriff called order. Currie was on the stand lor the greater part of the morning. His evidence was a brief recital of orders received to continue the pursuit of the enemy at -Mens. He denied casualties on Armistice Day.
