(Received Hus day at 8.50 a.m.) LONDON. April 27. Justice Avory summing up i" the Guttcridge ease reminded the jury that Kennedy’s statement was evidence against himself alone, not against Browne. Ho was satisfied lie did not err in refusing the application to grant separate trials. lie had sufficient confidence in the jury’s sense of justice to know Browne would not he prejudiced bv the fact that they were tried together.
BOTH MEN FOUND OUIDTY. sentenced to death. (Received this (lay at 10.40 a.m.) LONDON. April ‘23. Browne aiul Kennedy wore touml guilty and hath were sentenced In death.
