In tile annual report of the West Coast Rugby Union, the Executive congratulated clubs on the improvement shown during the season and on the splendid spirit in which the games were contested. The senior competition for the AlcKochnie Cup was won by Kanieri, who showed most consistent form throughout the season, and the senior Knock-out Competition went to Excelsior, and both Hokitika, teams are to he congratulated on their successes, and for the bright football they displayed. The senior representatives travelled to Nelson to play for the Keddon Shield, and although beaten by a. better team, put up a very creditable display. The match at Westport against Duller was lost by a very small margin, hut in the return match at Greymouth our representatives were successful and retained the Bundle Cup. The Maori Touring Team in defeating our representatives, provided us with a very fine exposition of Rugby. V isils wore also received from Ashburton, who played at Greymouth and Hokitika., a Canterbury “B” team which played at Hokitika, Golden Bay. and earlier in the season by Canterbury College, in all of which games our representatives were successful, so that from a playing point of view our representative season was most satisfactory. Jnangahua Sub-Union is to he congratulated on its splendid performance in retaining the Dittmaii Shield for the season, by defeating both Westland and Grey. There was a most successful season for school football, games being played at Hokitika, Roefton, Westport and Otira. whilst a West Coast schoolboys’ team travelled to Christchurch and had a most enjoyable trip, winning two out of three games.
