OREYMOUTH, April 4. The Oreymouth Harbour Board last evening had the rather unique experience of quite a numerous audience ol the public for its ordinary monthly meeting, there being about thirty citizens present, including the Mavoi. the Alember for the District, the Secretary of the West Coast -'Fillers Council, representatives of Hie Ru nanga Borough Council, and several leading Oreymouth business men. There were several proposals before the Board with regard to the immediate improvement of the port by deepening the bar sufficiently to raise the existing blockade, including those of Mr Stewart and Air Alay, while a Lyttelton resident uiote outlining a plan of bis own. and Air l'ando. of Greymouth also mentioned to members privately another plan. The Board decided, however, to defer consideration till this evening at a special meeting of these various proposals. The question of accepting a tender for the suction dredge included "t the harbour improvement scheme of . rs Furkert. Ferguson and Blair Mason, •vas also deferred till this evening.
