Air Bruce in an official pronouncement of the Government’s attitude towards oversea flights, stated that lie would remind those desirous of organising ill advised attempts, that unless the aircraft and crew were considered by the Defence Department to be adequate to ensure a reasonable prospect of success, then all possible action would be taken to prevent the undertalcing. and all the powers vested in the Federal Government would be invoked to penalize an unauthorized flight. On the oilier band if the Government was satisfied that the machin - was suitable and all other conditions and. regulations were complied with, the Government was prepared to afford encouragement and reasonable assistance to the enterprise.
