Buried treasure, gold, silver and diamonds, estimated to he worth twelve millions sterling, is the fascinating objective of a hand of explorers shortly setting out for Bolivia. Dr Edgar Sanders says Jesuits mined and exported gold and silver to Europe regularly up to 17G7. Aware that they were likely to he banished they continued u)i to 1778 in secreting hoards in one place, believing they would he allowed to return. Sanders says he holds a document revealing the hiding place. Previous digging operations revealed a silver crucifix and a parchment warning of a curse upon anybody proceeding further and the workmen declined to go on.
