MAGISTRATE RETIRES.

ROTORUA. January 25. On the eve of his retirement, Air A’. 0. K. Kenrick was to-day farewelied by the Bar. Justices and representatives of all fil-al bodies. AfrG. Urqnliart. on behalf of the liar, stressed the high esteem in which he was hold by all classes, and Mr Kenrick’s upright and honourable administration of his office. His remarks were endorsed by all present. A gift of a suit case was presented to Air Kenrick. ARRIVAL OF NURSING SISTERS AUCKLAND. Jan. 24. Bound for Christchurch, where they will assist in the management of St. George’s Hospital being opened there by the Anglicans, there arrived to day hv the Ar.awa, four Hungarian Sisters of the Order of St. Elizabeth, ■sent from the Order’s headquarters at RedclifFe Gardens, London. Accompanying them are Aliss D. ( 'lhwaites, who will l«> matron of the new establishment (and who is an X-ray specnlist). Sister M. Lovegrove and Nurse W. Vunmall. all trained at London Hospital, and attached to an exterior order of the Church.

Investigations in connect ion with the Christchurch Hospital were last year made hv the Rev, Afother oi the Convent from which the Sisters come, while Mother Alice, who will he in charge, lias already arrived. Other sisters mav coiiie to Xew Zealand later while several will be going to AUStriU
