NEW TOURIST ROUTE.
TREADING THE UNKNOWN. A private message from Creighton, Lake Wakatijiu, states that the first party of tourists to complete the round trip from Lake M anuka through Southern Westland to Martin’s Bay, arrived back at Queenstown, Lake Wnkatipu, yesterday, The trip which was under the guidance of Mr Eric James, was entirely successful, Last Saturday's Christchurch “Star” had a full page story ot South A\cstli'ind tours, contributed by Mr Erie •Tames, extolling the scenic features of the far south, and describing the various tourist routes which could be opened up. The tour just completed was one of ~ic trips outlined, thus, eonlirming the published reports. It is very satisfactory to find- those vei'y attractive parts 6f South Westland, though so remote; now receiving the desired .attention of tourists and liofidav makers.
