While American tourists have discontinued their visits to New Zealand, temporarily at least, there is one consolation. that in future the Dominion may expect greater numbers of ”isitors from the Old Country. A pioneer party of English tourists, consisting of Air and Airs S. 11 dames. Air and Airs C. Holmes and Air and Airs K. Paul, arrived in Auckland by the Alaungnn 111 this morning, and indications are that this time next year a party comprising twenty or thirtv people will iindeitake a tour that is to, he arranged by the well known tourist firm of Pick fords Air James, who represents this firm, indicated this morning that he had tome to the Dominion for the purpose of making inquiries regarding laeilities for sending special parties out from Heme regularly. Pick fords had stalled a New Zealand department in Loudon last year to look after the wants of the Dominion, and it was in charge of a New Zealand lady, Alias Ames. The firm had had an Australian department for five yers, and so successful Imd this proved that it had been induce! to make this latest, extension. Aliss Ames was in touch with the New Zealand office rt Home, rod arrangements were working satistactonl.v up to the present. lie was nndcitaking the present tour in order to make arrangements to bring Englisli people out in future, and he hoped that, the first tour would begin this time next year. "I think it will be quite a simple matter to get parties of English tourists out here every year if the itinerary is properly advertised aim arranged.” added Mr James.
