GEEYMOUTH. Dec. 20. At the Magistrate's Court yesterday Mr Meldrum, S.M., dealt with a number of cases. The use of insulting language in Taiuui Street cn Sunday, September 4, was alleged against Michael Boyle, a street orator. Defendant was convieted and fined £l, with 12s costs. A charge of failing to firing unused explosives out of the State Mine at the end of his shift, on December 2, and return them to the place of storage, was brought against Anthony Sodermun by the mine manager. Evidence- wits given by Archibald John Roddy, underviewer, regarding ihe finding of a canister containing six plugs of Monobel in defendant’s working place. Sodtrnuin’s token was attached to the canister. Defendant was convicted anil fined 10s with 12s costs and £3 3s solicitor’s fee. As the result of an incident which occurred at Ngahere on November (>. William Jamieson was’ charged with a-nulting .John Thomas But terworl h, so as to cause him grievous bodily harm. The case had been remanded several times, owing to the fact that Buttcnvorth was cn inmate of the <reynionth Hospital. Alter the hearing of lengthy evidence, accused reserved his defence, pleaded not guilty, and was i unlimited lor trial at the next sitting of the Supreme Court. Bail was allowed in self C-Yo and one surevt <>l £o(;. or two of £25 each.

the dresses and coathangers in the bakehouse on the Kamona, and they were recovered. Tito accused pleaded guilty, and was committed to the next sitting of the Supreme Court at Greymouth for sentence. Bail was fixed at self £SO, and two sureties of £25 each. An order was made for the return of the goods to Miss Sanity.
