SUPREME COURT SENTENCES.
TJMAIUT, Nov. it. At llie* Supreme Court, the following sentences were imposed by Justice Adams. Leonard St. Clair Thomson on a charge of theft, to two years’ probation, goods to he returned to the Public Trustee, and costs .Coo 12s to he paid. John Thomas Tilson. found guilty ol negligent driving, thereby causing the death of David South, two years’ probation, conditional oil taking out a prohibition order for that period. His license was on needled for two years and he was ordered to pay costs £‘2s 18s 2d.
SENTENCES’. AUCKLAND, Nov 3. Justice Peed sentenced Inn Beatrice AVills, 25, to twelve months rclormative detention on a charge of receiving stolen goods the proceeds of a midnight robbery at Epson on August 6th. Thomas Herbert Skinner, 29, an Australian, who had previously pleaded guilty to charges <T breaking entering and theft and attempted breaking in connection with the same crime was sentenced on Monday to 18 months reformative treatment.
His Honour said the jury had taken a most favourable point of view in deciding .Mrs AN'ills was not a party to actual breaking and entering, hut she knew everything that was going oil, and was a party to the proceedings. He had also to take into serious consderaton the perjury which A\ ills had committed putting probation out oi the question. lie would not be doing his duty unless he imposed a period of imprisonment.
