Amery, speaking at a civic reception said lie desired to obtain at first hand sufficient information to enable him to place before tho people of Britain practical schemes to assist Australia in solving her problems. Ho was convinced nothing could be more effective in maintaining the unity of the Empire than Ministers seeing work in various parts of the Empire. Every dominion was an imperial nation, with its own trust for tlie maintenance of the greatest instiution for good in the world, the British Empire. Hon. Britain hoped by the cooperation and help of Australia to fill its great spaces with the best British stock, which was tlie best in the world. That was not as simple a matter as was sometimes assumed. Hon. Amery realised that the essential condition to f increase population was the finding of; markets.
