CHINESE TROUBLE.
(Australian & N.Z. Cable Association. CHINESE DEMANDS. HONG KONft, Oct. 19. A naval wireless from Cliefoo where the warship 'Vindictive is guarding Hong Kong-Shanghai bank, owing to a Chinese threat to remove the salt revenue funds, indicates the situation is tense. Sixty thousand dollars of tho same fund were forcibly removed from a Chinese bank and a demand was promulgated that Hong Kong-Shanghai Bank should hand over the funds. Trouble is feared. Nows from Canton shows extremists are again in partial control and there is much talk of another anti-British campaign.
Reports from all districts reveal the utmost chaos regarding the Administration. 'Die whole of China is in an appalling ferment of unrest, thanks to military and red emissaries.
