GENEVA, Oct. 18.

Thirty-three States, including the United States and Egypt, which are non-members of the League of Nations, as well as separate delegations from Canada, Australia, India and” the Irish Free State, are attending a conference convened by tlio League to consider the possible prohibitions and restrictions other than customs duties. M. Colijin, cx-Premier of Holland was appointed President. Sir Sydney Chapman (Permanent Secretary of the Board of Trade) who is the head of*the British delegation, sa.id that he hoped that the conference could proceed cautiously, and seek for a compromise, rather than lay down any rigid regulations. Tlio British Empire delegations met to-night and discussed proposals made by Dominion representatives.
