THE NEW MINISTRY. (Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.) Oct. IS. To-day, Mr Bavin submitted the following Cabinet to the Governor: Premier and Treasurer—Hon Mr Bavin. Attorney General and Vice President of the Executive Council—Hon Mr Boyce. Chief Secretary—lion Mr Bruntell. Minister for Works and Railways— Hon M. Buttensliaw. Minister for Lands—Hon. Mr Ball. Minister of Agriculture—Hon Mr Tliorby. Minister of Education—-Hon. Mr Drummond. Minister for Local Government— Hon Mr Bruxncr. Minister of Alines and Forests— Hon Mr Cliaffey. -Minister of Justice—Hon. Mr Lee. Minister of Labour and IndustryHon. Mr Farrar. Minister of Health—Hon. Mr Arthur. Assistant Treasurer—Hon hi. Stevens. Minister in the Legislative Council —Hon Mr Ryan. Mr Bavin stated that Sir George Fuller had been offered a position in the Cabinet, but lie had declined it. The Labour caucus to-day elected Mr Lang as leader, unopposed.

LABOUR WINS HURSTVILLE. SYDNEY, Oct. IS. Tin l Equity' Court to-day dismissed Mr J. R. Xeild’s petition in connection with the election at Hurstville. Mr Ncild, the Nationalist candidate, applied to tlie Equity Court foi* leave to apply for an ex-parte injunction to restrain the returning officer from declaring the result of the poll, or from forwarding to the Governor the name of.the Labour candidate, Mr W. J, Butler, who polled 7039 votes, against Mr Neild’s’ 7002 votes. Mr Neild alleged that the Returning Officer in Hurstville had stated that there were eighty' absent votes missing. and that unless one candidate got more absent votes than eighty, there would bo a row. It was also alleged that on morning the Returning Officer refused to announce how many absent votes bad been received.
