CONCERT AT WESTLAND HOSPITAL
The Competitions concert party visited Westland Hospital last evening and gave a concert extending over an hour and a half, for the entertainment of the patients and staff. The concert was given in Hanson Ward where the male and female patients were congregated. The following was the programme:— Pianoforte solo, Miss Ada Lynn; vtocal duet, Mrs Findlay and Miss (Sheriff; humorous recitation, Mollie MoGavin; solo, Airs Findlay; violin solo, Jean Dowell; Irish Jig. Hma. Tulloch; vocal solo, Airs Turnbull; recitation, Aliss Yeale; recitation, Connie Staines; recitation, Esina Hanrahan; recitation, Noeline Wormington; ballets, Alisses Stevenson, Staines and McWhirter solo. AT. Hanralian; recitation, Beatrice Stephens; violin duet, P. and Tv. Crougli; solo, Pearl Dowell; recitation in character, Joy Ward; recitation, Violet Ross; song. Cora Lynn; violin solo, J. Ackers; recitation in character, Pat AlcGavin; vocal solo, Aliss Sherriff; recitation, D. Hughes. Alisses Giese and Crougli, and Muster Staveley were the accompanists. Ale Evans was director and in a few remarks at the close of the programme thanked Aliss Giese specially for kind-
ly helping at very short notice owing to the indisposition of Atiss Dalv, who had organised the concert. Thanks were extended also to Alisses ami Air Crougli for coming such a distance on a stormy night to assist. Mr Evans added it gave the performers .rreafc pleasure to be present, and bo hoped it would he possible to return again before Christmas with another concert party. , Mr G Davidson on behalf ol tin. patients, the staff, and the Board thanked the performers for the vei> enjoyable entertainment given. Latu Matron Hamilton and staff entertained the visitors at supper am thanked for their hospital,*. -returning to town by motor S hearty cheers were given by the pelformers for Air W. Newman of Neumans Motors, who had kindly 1> « •i lai-Te bus at the disposal of the party for the visit, a convenience greatly appreciated on such a not night.
