SOVIET RUSSIA.
(Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.) POLISH-SOVIET PACT. RIGA, Oct. 3. A deadlock lias apparently arisen in the Polish-Soviet pact negotiations of September 28t1i., owing to Poland’s determination to secure the Polish Baltic interests. The Soviet has rejected all the Polish suggestions in connection with these, as being a Polish attempt to come between tho Soviet and other neighbours. The Soviet paper “Izvestia” declares that Poland lias attempted to challenge and to check tho Soviet influence in Baltic States, and that this represents most serious difficulty, and tho paper bluntly tells Poland that only when it adopts a disinterested attitude towards the Soviet’s Baltic relations, can the negotiations progress.
