- (Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.) NORTH ISLAND ROAD RACE. AUCKLAND. Oct. 1. The cycle road race from Hamilton to Auckland, about 8!) miles, carrying with it the Dunlop North Island Cycling Road Championship, was won bv •T. Henderson, of Auckland (12 mins). w . Brewster, of New Plymouth (on scratch) was second, and AY. Francis of Auckland (I7mius.) was third. There were twenty-three starters. The fastest time was recorded l>y Brewster, viz:, I hour 3-1 minutes, 3-1 sees, off scratch. He Finished 300 yards behind Henderson. E. Brockton, of Hamilton, who is 70 years of age next- week, competed in the race on a handicap, completing tho course in eight hours 33 minutes. VICTORIAN ROAD RACE. GEELONG, Oct. 2.
The fifty miles Open Cycle Race, known as “The Little Warrambool” resulted : AY. A r eitch (Victoria) I ; A. Oran (Victoria) 2; F. Arklay (Victoria) 3. AA'ou by a length. Time 2hrs. Smins. 20sees. The fastest time was recorded by IT. Moody (N.S.AA’.) viz. 2 hrs. dm in. 21sees.
