COSGRAVE’S POLICY. LONDON, Sept. 14

President Cosgrave has issued, a statement containing ten points on which ho is prepared to meet his opponents with peace and reconciliation. They are as follows:

Voluntary submission to will of the people. The balancing of tho national budget. A single disciplined army, subject to the control of Parliament. An efficient police force. Tho collection of all arms from persons in unauthorised possession of them. An Independent Judiciary. Entrance to the Froo State Civil Servico by merit only. No truce with crime of any description. Peace at home and abroad. Tho fufilment of all pledges, both national and international. LONDON, Sept. U.

In a reply to Mr De Valera, wlio lins argued that the Irish Treaty was accepted on tlie assumption that it merely* was a stepping stone to greater freedom. Hon Mr Blythe said:—“lf I couTctjurn tho Free State into a Republic to-morrow, I would not. lift one finger to do it. We have now all the powers and tho liberties that arc required for the people of this country.”

ELECTION DAY. LONDON, Sept. 15. To-day the citizens of the Irish Free State are to choose 149 members of the Dnil Eireann from 2CI) candidates. The result of the election, owing to the proportional representation system, will not be known for several cßfys yet. President Cosgrave asks the electors for a clear decision and for a. bigger poll than last year. There are no signs of a bigger poll, however, unless the seeming indifference of the electors covers a grim determination to vote. LONDON, Sept. 15. Lord Beaverbrook has informed the London editor of the “Irish Independent” that there is not a single word of truth in the statement that ho has contributed directly or indirectly to Irish political funds.
