RAILWAY LOSSES. SYDNEY, Sept. 10. The annual report of the Railway Commission discloses a loss for tho year totalling £151,618. MT. MORGAN MINE. SYDNEY, Sept. 10. A company has been formed by two loading smelting proprieties in Australia and a numebr of mining mag. nates to acquire Mount Morgan, for which they are willing to pay £IOO,OOO. The mine will be re-opened, blit only certain workings exploited. The miners will be asked to accept reduced wages but will be given a share in ttie mine. STRIKERS SPLIT. BRISBANE. Sept. 8. A fully attended meeting of the Maryborough Branch of the Guards, Shunters and Conductors’ Association to-day uuaimouslv resolved declaring their determination to return to work as directed hv the Railway Commissioner. The meeting also called upon, tho Disputes Committee to deal with tho South Johnstone strikers, giving them an ultimatum that they must accept tho offer of tho Arbitral! n Court, or else all support will 'be withdrawn from them, and they will lie declared “black.”
