(Hv Telegraph—Per Press Association. MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. HAMILTON, Sept. 8. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Golf Association was held in Hamilton last night. A striking tribute was paid to the late chairman, Mr R. C. Kirk. A resolution was passed placing on jrecord his great services to golf, and expressing sympathy with his relatives. It was decided by sixty-throe votes to twenty-three that the next New Zealand Championship meeting he held on the Balniaeewan course, Dunedin, provided it was found satisfactory.

The present system of handicapping was criticised and the council was recommended to adopt the system in vogue in Britain. The old council were re-elected. HAMILTON, Sept. 8. There was a beautifully fine day today, the best day of the tourney. The only competitions were a Stroke Handicap and the Driving Competition.

The Stroke Handicap was won by W. G. Fisher, with L. ‘V. Bellingham, H. Tichnarsh, and A. Nieholls equal, second. The issue was decided by lot in Bellingham’s favour. The Driving Competitions were both won by K. Tarelm. His best individual drive was 257 yards, and his aggregate for two out of four halls was 496 yards. One of Donald Grant’s drive's was 250 yards. Sloan Morpeth pulled one of his drives. Had it been straight it would have been fully 270 yards.

N.Z. TOURNEY FINALS. SI ME ELIMINATED. HAMILTON, Sept. 9. The final of the professional golf championship was decided to-day when the holder, J. D. Mclntosh, of Master ton, heat It. C. Butters, of Wellington. 5 up and 4 to play. It was sound golf, but the winner was too brilliant. In .the semi-finals of the amateur division the results were:—Sloan Morpeth (Auckland) beat 11. G. Sime, of Westport, 2 up and 1 to play. T.' 11. Horton, of Masterton, accounted for Norrie Bell, of Hamilton, 3 and 2. The final of the amateur championship between .Morpeth and Horton will lie played over 30 holes oil Saturday.
