CRfCKET COACH. LONDON. Aug. 16. Newman, of Hampshire, has accepted the Canterbury Cricket Association offer and sails for New Zealand on 16th September. NEW ZEALANDERS SUCCESS. LONDON. Aug. 16. The “Evening Standard'' says the New Zealanders success against Derby should settle the question whether the team has come up to expectations. It was pointed out that Sussex did not jilay- Tate and Worcester did not play Root, therefore grumblers requested Marylelionc to suggest to the Counties the fairness of selecting the strongest sides. Mnryleliono did not listen to tho suggestion. It is impossible to disparage the overwhelming defeat of Derbyshire which is at present one of tho best County sides, whose position in the championship contest is an. outstanding feature of the season.
