JAPA XEK E FOOTBALLERS. MELBOURNE. Aug. 17. A visiting Japanese .Rugby Union football team from Waseda University were defeated by a combined Australian University team by Ji to I f. AFRICAN PLEASURE. (Received this day at 9.30 a.m.) Capetown. Aug. 10. The fact that the All Blacks have agreed to extend their Rugby tour hero to include four test* instead of three, has given immense satisfaction. The Rugby Board cabled New Zealand Rugby Union stating the wh >lo country appreciates the generous spirit of the tour, the design for which the Board thanks you. AFRICAN TOUR POSSIBLES. WELLINGTON. Aug. 17. The local Unions having been requested to make sure that all players selected to take part m the- tiial games, would ho available for the African trip. A point was raised would this apply to the North v South Island match. The New Zealand Union says it will not as it is really a trial of strength between the two Islands.
