CHRISTCHURCH. June 17

At a meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Swimming Association. -Mr A MacDonald said lie would like to see a. table compiled to show the number of drowning accidents in New Zealand each year. He was of the opinion that quite a number of good swimmers were being drowned. It would be interesting if they could liml out what proportion -f drowned could swim and what proportion could not. An effort should he made to tench swimmers how to avoid such occasions as would lead to trouble. It was decided that an effort he made to compile such a table.
