MISSING NUNGESSER. PARIS, May 10,
Af. lo Vasseur is the maker of Captain Xungesscr’s aeroplane. He said that the extreme limit of the flight is forty-two hours. Therefore, assuming that lie escaped mishap, Captain Xungesser would have come down at 11.20 o’clock on Monday night.
WASHINGTON', May 10. The U.S.A. Ambassador at Paris, Air Herrick, has cabled to the State Department stating that out of regard for the present state of anxiety of tho French people for Captain Nungesser. ho fc-cls that the contemplated “take off” of an American, plane for a New A’ork to Paris flight to-morrow might lie misunderstood. TRe State Department, in announce' ing the message, intimated that its action was limited, and it had not communicated that warning to the National Aeronautic Association, which is supervising the Orteig flight. This flight is scheduled for to-morrow, and is to lie made by the duration record holders. The Navy Department has announced that Lieut. Champion lias set a new altitude record of 33,455 feet in a Wriglit single-seater fighter seaplane.''
