MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
TO-MORROW. There will be considerable stir through the Dominion to-morrow when the Municipal and other local body elections arc taking place. The polling hours are from !) a.m to 7 p.tn. There will be many spirited contests notably for the Mayoral chairs in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, to say nothing of the contest nearer home, at Greymouth. In several of the contests for municipal councils, hospital, harbour and other boards, there are a great number of candidates. In Auckland some sixty-one candidates are standing for the 21 seats in the City Council. Lo'rally there will be contests for the Borough Cutucil, Harbour Board and Hospital Board, and there is a larger choice than usual in each instance. There will be a new system of voting on the present occasions—striking out
the name of the candidate the voter does not wish to vote for, in Tien of making a cross for the person voted for Voters will do well to study the instructions well before voting so as not to render their vote invalid. The duty east on the elector now is to strike out the names of those for whom ho desires not to vote.
