THOUGHTS FOR THE TIMES
Mr Coat*®’ Optimism. “We can look forward to the future.’’ Mr Contes said recently, “with satisfaction and confidence, but it means eifort on our part. We must retain our standard, and to do that we must give a greater output for the money received. It is only by increased effort on the part of everybody, and by the gospel of hard work, and by attention to business and to business methods, that it will he possible for us to come through the slight depression that this country is feeling. And please don’t think that this is the only country affected ; I found the same conditions in each country we went through. . . I think our country is the best of all. We will go through this time of slight difficulty with flying colours, just as we have done in the past, and 1 am perfectly certain we will do so this time.”
