Yesterday was Iho IGSth anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns, Scotland's National poet.
For the week ending at noon on Monday, the following eases of notifiable diseases were reported to the Health Department, Christchurch:— Canterbury: Scarlet fever 5. diphtheria 2, enteric fever 1, tuberculosis 9, pneumonia 1. pneumonic influenza 1, eclapsia ]. West Coast. Scarlet fever 1. diphtheria 1, tuberculosis 1. Total—23. There were three deaths, till in Canterbury, two being from tuberculosis, and one from puerperal septicaemia.
