IMPRINT'S ACCEPTANCE. CHRISTCHURCH, September 17. The New Zealand Metropolitan Trottine; Club, in a statement explaining the noii-areeptance of the first payment by Mr T. B. Louisson, of Nelson, for Imprint, in the Cup, says that up till the time of closing—noon on September IG—Mr ‘Louisson's registered letters had not been delivered into the Club’s Post Office Box, nor had my notice of a letter from the Post Office been delivered. The statement concludes: “Under the above circumstances the Secretary had no option but to refuse to accept payment (the letter beiiig de’ivtrod to him at 3.10 p.m. on th 16th List 1 While the Club is very sorry for v.hat lias happened, it must be pointed out that the Secretary and his assistant did everything it was possible to do to collect the mail, and that as the Post Office was Mr Louisson’s agent for making delivery, and did not make delivery within the time, the fault must lie with him.”
