KOKATAHI WINTER SHOW

ANOTHER DISTINCT SUCCESS

The Kokatahi-Koiterangi "Winter Show was opened yesterday afternoon iu the Public’Hall, Kokatahi, and like those of former years is a distinct credit to tine district and the organisers. After the very wet summer and autumn fears were entertained that the produce section would not he of quality or quantity, hut the display made yesterday was distinctly creditable and though there was not the quantity of former years in this section the quality was a. decided improvement. After a coupki of very stormy days yesterday broke fine and the day was a glorious one. There was a very fair attendance present yesterday at 3 o’clock when the judging was completed, and the doors were thrown open to the public. The display was a very attractive one. As mentioned above, the produce entries though not as numerous as former years were of decided quality, and in potatoes anil turnips was a specially good one. The two district hays and the two farmers' bays were each of special merit and attracted much attention and favourable comment. The home cooking classes were well-filled and as usual the quality was excellent and the coinpdti'tion good. Hams and bacons proved an atrnetive exhibit while the school children's entries were excellent and were the subject of much attention, while the fancy work proved of special interest to the fair sex. Tlv poultry section was a larger and better exhibit than usual arid formed qiil.te .an interesting section. Altogether the Show was a distinct success and worthy of the district. Ihe Show is being concluded Lhis afternoon.
