MEAT MARKET.

-In the latest report just received by the New Zealand Aleut Producers’ Board from its London manager, regarding the meat market at Home j the following comments are made in connection with the market for pork: •There have been very small supplies of New Zealand pork arriving, although I see from the shipments that a fair quantity has been going to the bacon cut'ors by the West Coast boats. 1 understand from several of the firms specialising in the pork business at this end that they have been finding difficulty in obtaining quotations from New Zealand this year, and I regret to notice that the shipments up to .date have not been any heavier than last year. I had hoped that- with the present good prices ruling we should increase our pork killings this year. The supplies of both Dutch and Polish pigs have been fairly heavy during the Inst few weeks, and have been selling at lOjd for Dutch and fOd for Polish. I understand that the hulk of the Polish pigs used to go to Germany, but now that that country lias placed an import duty on meat, supplies have been diverted from there to Britain, and are likely to be fairly regular. I understand tlie quality is quite satisfactory, and as these imports are fresh pork, they are consequently preferred to the frozen.”
