FIRE AT MOANA.
RAILWAY STATION DESTROYED. GREY-MOUTH, April 15. Last night a lire destroyed completely tho Railway Station Moaua, Lake Brunner. The news of the tire did not reach Greymoutli till 11.45 p.m.. by way of Hokitika. The lire must have started over an hour previously, and the building was reduced to ruins. The Post Office- at Moaua is conducted in conjunction with the Railway Station, and' the whole structure was evidently destroyed by the conflagration. No partiulcars were obtainable at midnight, as the Most Coast telegraph line does not pass through Moaua, but links up by way of Kumara in the locality of Aickens. The complete destruction of the station was due to an absence of water for fir© lighting purposes, at Moaua. The fir© continued to burn till about R>.3o a.m. The Railway Department lias arranged for the despatch to Moaua of a couple of the Department’s movable hutments to take the place ol the station, until provision is made for a new station.
