.MEETING AT WELLINGTON. WELLINGTON. April It. Renewal of pastures was brought before the Hoard of Agriculture when Mr A. 11. Cockayne. Director of the Fields Division of the Department of Agriculture, related the result of a series of experimental plots designed to make comparison of imported or DuLh white clover, mid that grown in New Zealand, The result showed thatNew Zealand-grown clovers were much superior to that grown from imported s ec,!. The board asked that an article be perpared for the Journal- giving a detailed account of the results and that leaflets be circulated to Agricultural and I’astoHil Associations and E.lrmers' Unions.

The proposed draft ol a Fertilisers Bill to replace the Art now in operalion was considered in detail and approved with minor amendments. It was suggested that the proposals should later be discussed with farmers' organisations and with the fertiliser trade. The board decided to recommend that the Rabbit Nuisance Act lie again consolidated, and (approved of proposals for amendment of certain provisions of the Act in regard to the establishment and working of boards under Part 111., which rolales to the establishment of Rabbit- Boards in rodured areas.

Departmental officers gave the members of the Board full information in connection with the present position regarding treatment of contagious mammitis, and the progress which had been made in connection with experiments directed al obtaining a more effective method of dealing with blackberry.

The dehorning of cattle question was further considered, the bmrd deciding to report to the Minister that the time had arrived when a Bill should lie brought ill to make ii compulsory except in the case of stud and pedigree cattle.
