COMMITTEE MEETING
Tho Committee of the above Club met at 9.5 o’clock last evening. Present: —Messrs F. McGregor (Chairman), Neville. Mclntosh, Peake, Ynrrall, Thompson and Evans. Apologies were received for the absence of Messrs Williams and Adamson.
The minutes of the previous meeting were confirmed.
The N.Z. Racing Conference notified that G. E. Carry, of Christchurch, would he stipendiary steward lor the forthcoming meeting and F. S. Cox the racecourse .Inspector. It was notified also that any refund on account of totalisator duty should be expended on buildings ami permanent improvements at the racecourse. The Department of Internal Affairs advised that'F. G. Matthews would ho the totalisator Inspector at the forthcoming meeting. The Treasury remitted the amount due on totalisator duty for the Christmas meeting. The Grcymouth Trotting Club acknowledged with thanks telegram of sympathy in connection with the late fire on Victoria. Park, also offer of the use of any plant required for future race meeting. In response to the request from the Racing Conference, dates for race meetings next Christmas and the following Easter were selected for approval hv the Dates Committee. The nominations for the race meeting next Wednesday were received as very satisfactory. The Secretary reported the course and appointments in good order and everything was being prepared for the meeting as usual. The railway time table appeared to be verv satisfactory.
Mr 0. Gnvlor was appointed DeputyClerk of the Scales vice Mr Sellers, who is indisposed. Tho purchase of a draught horse for the course work was left to a subcommittee.
