1,000,000 CONTRACT.
LONDON. November 30. The contract for the 01,000,000 scheme for electricity extension of the Bristol Corporation has been placed with Messrs "Vickers. Limited. Westminster. in conjunction with Messrs Mctropolitan-Vickers Electrical Co,, Ltd., Manchester, subject to the approval of the Electricity Commissioners. This will mean 12 months’ continuous work for the 11,000 employees of Messrs Metropolitan-Vickers. The Wanganui. New Zealand, Harbour Board, have placed an order with the Dublin Dockyard Company (Vick-ers-Trelaiul. Limited) for a twin-screw fire and salvage tug, 110 ft by 24ft by 12ft. with two sets of triple expansion 800-h.p. engines. This is the second New Zealand order for the Dublin Dockyard Company in n. month.
