1 Australia & N.Z. Cable Association.] A SCATHING REPORT. OF TURKISH ATROCITIES. (Received this day at 11.25 a.m.) Geneva, Dec. 11. 'The report by General Laidoner. an Esthoninn, was presented to the League Council. It says the statements of refugees show the Turkish soldiers commanded by officers, occupied villages, obtained arms, pillaged houses, subjected inhabitants to atrocious violence, and even massacre. Laidoner’s personal observations confirmed the pitiable condition of the icfugees, who lost everything. The report emphasises the importance <d the Brussels line, and adds that the deportations are proceeding. After reading the. report, Laidoner announced the receipt of a telegram from Mosul stating all was quiet on the frontier.
The presentation of the report coincided with the receipt of a letter by the Council, from the Turkish delegation, announcing their withdrawal as a consequence of the League’s decision in the Mosul dispute.
