SUNSHINE SEEKERS.
LONDON, Oct. 5. More people than ever are leaving Britain this autumn in search of sunshine and warmth. Great- ocean liners are lining chartered to provide accommodation for those who wish to get away form the fog. damp and cold of the British winter. The C'unanl Lino has no fewer than eight of its liners, including the Mauretania, hooked up for these pleasure cruises. The tours are arranged so that the travellers shall always have sunshine ' and brightness. One vessel, the Carjnthia, will, starting from Liverpool next month, encircle the earth, visiting places where tourist steamers have never been before, an in a voyage of ]4P days will travel 38,000 miles, calling at ‘2l countries and 48 ports and cities. The voyagers will he in Japan in November when the chrysanthemums are in full bloom, and in India in January, the ideal month of the year for that country. About 400 persons will travel in the Carinthia, a new ship of 20.000 tons, which will l>e run on the lines of a paintitil hotel. There will be £i swimming hath, tennis court, lounges and gardens, ballrooms and eardrooms, a printing office and a beauty parlour for the women. The Mauretania is to make a flying tour of the Mediterranean, enabling ; business men and invalids to have in a little more than a month, a trip which i 1 usually takes twice ns long. Yet other vessels are going to cruise ; in the West Indies, and for every one the booking is heavy.
