MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
( THURSDAY. NOV. 19th. (Before W. Aleldrum, Esq., S.AI.) DEFENCE ACT. On a charge of failure to attend | drill John K. Slnvw was fined 10s and I costs 7s. LICENSING ACT. . On a charge of being on licensed premises (Empire Hotel, Kanieri) an offender was fined os and costs 9s. MOTOR CAR UNLIGHTED. On a charge of having a motor-ear uulighted in AYeltl Street, on 17til. Oct. at 7.00 p. 111 . John AY. Maloney pleaded not guilty. Constable Randall gave evidence of seeing the motor car, which was unattended. Defendant stated he parked the car in AVeld Street on the north side, and claimed there was no necessity to have a light, under the Borough Councils parking arrangements. The defendant’s claim was upheld and the charge dismissed. A similar charge against H. B. Walsh (motor cycle) was dismissed. CYCLING ON FOOTPATHS. AYaltor Herring charged by the Borough Inspector (Mr Park) with cycling on a footpath was fined 5s and costs 17s Od. NON-ATTENDANCE AT SCHOOL. On charges of failure to send her child to school, Margaret Henderson was fined 5s and costs 7s each on two charges: William .Tones was fined 5s and costs 7s; John Shivns (2 charges) fined 5s and costs 7s on each charge; G. Dale, fined 5s and costs 7s. DEBT CASEB. Commissioner of Crown Lands (At Park) v. L. E. Nvherg. Judgment for balance. £0 19s, with posts £5 7s Od. J. J .Morgan (Mr Murdoch) v - Wni. Mann, claim £ls. Judgment for plaintiff with costs £2 I ts. L. Gooch (Air .Murdoch) v. Tuhiirn Tainui, judgment summons £2O 10s Id. Adjourned for defendant to supply particulars <»f income.
