The death occurred in Auckland of ike well-known cross country horseman Mr Samuel Walls. While riding Rafferty in the Hunters’ Steeplechase at the Auckland Racing Club's meeting on the previous Saturday he met with a had lall, hut, however, rode on the following Monday. Subsequently tetanus developed to which he succumbed.
