FRENCH KILLER IN SYRIA. PARIS. Nov. 1
A communique has been issued wherein the Premier [joints out that the six thousand French reported kill’d in Svria represented the total killed and missing since 1920, whereas the killed missing since the outbreak of the present disorders only numbered 585. barely half who are French.
DAMASCUS RAAIAGK. PARIS. October 30.
The Government has decided to appoint a Civil High Commissioner in Svria when a mandate is organised.
The Government is still awaiting General Sarrail's detailed report regarding Damascus. The American Ambassador, M.r -Merrick, has handed At. Behind a note asking for information regarding the events in Syria lor communication to Washington.
CAIRO. October 31
According to the Damascus newspaper “ Omran.” the damage done in the Damascus bombardment is estimated at three millions sterling. Tile authorities are forbidding all except women and foreigners leaving the city, though fifteen thousand have left since October 20th. Executions continue. Beirut newspapers are publishing a sensational report that twelve hundred prisoners in the citadel at Damascus were killed during the bombardment, following an attempt to escape. The guards were attacked and several were killed.
