From Dr. Watt, in regard to approaching visit and stating Government assistance would Ire the same as for capital expenditure by general board. - Received. From Health Department in regard to difficulty in Jilting vacancy for staff nurse.—Received. From Dr. Watt asking for returns. - Received; to ho supplied. From Same in regard to resolutions of hospital conference.—Received. From James O’Brien, A1.1’., stating the Alidwives Bill had passed the loner House before receiving the Board's letter.—Received. AAA' have the honour to report having met in conjunction with Dr Baird to discuss the question of meeting the need ol providing accommodation for maternity eases. Air Jdl'rics said the suggestion of the Chairman was a satisfactory one. At the present time it was impossible to finance the necessary amount that would he required to build a house. After a reference by Afr Blank to tinproposal of the Customs Department In charge -S per load for gravel and sand taken from Hie sea beach, tho Chairman moved that a protest he made to the Department against the proposal. Seconded by Air Davidson and carried.

July:—-31 males, 13 females. 1-1; admitted during July 18 males, 15 females, 33; total treated, -19 males, 98 females; total 77; Discharged cured, 20 males, 8 females; total 28; died 2 males; relieved 2 males, 2 females; total discharged 21 males, 10 females; 31. Remaining in hospital on 31st. July, 25 males, 18 females, total 13. In hospital for two months, U males, 7 females; total 21. Received. From House Committee recommending tenders he invited for painting of the roof of the''hospital; recommending leave of absence to Alisa Allardvce. Received and approved; Air Davidson to arrange. From Finance Committee recommending payment of accounts amounting to £4(32 10s I0d; that tenders he invited for purchase of Totara Hospital. Received and adopted. From Treasurer reporting:—Receipts £1127 (Is sd; payments £986 os, credit balance £1629 IBs 2d (including £ISOO .subsidies in advan.-e). Received.

Air A Veils moved:—(l) That resolution carried at the meeting held on June Bth., 1923, and numbered 23 in the minutes thereof, regarding Transfer of Lease of portion of A.M.R. from Boyle and Krakowski to James Senile, he lescinded : (2) That the transfer of lease of portion of A.M.R. by Bovle and Krakowski to James Searle. when presented to the Board to be signed by them; subject to the condition of a bond being signed by Boyle J and Krakowski stating they are re-

sponsible for the balance of tbo rentdue under the-Lease. Seconded by Mr Morel and carried. The Board rose at 9.30 p.m.
